Rare Blue Caps Dravite Tourmaline Crystals – Location: Mwajanga, Simanjiro District, Manyara Region, Tanzania (near Mt. Kilimanjaro). Large Thumbnail (see photo for more details). Here we have an attractive and rare cluster of ‘blue ‘caped’ Dravite tourmaline crystals. The tourmaline crystals form as a cluster of parallel growing sharply formed crystals. The lower part is a dark brown to almost black color grading into a gemmy almost colorless area and the crystals have bluish colored terminations (blue caps). The crystals have a glassy luster.
