Red Beryl (also sometimes called Bixbite) with Bixbyite Location: Thomas Range Juab Co. Utah. (see photo for more details). Here we have a tabular red beryl crystal on a matrix of rhyolite from our red beryl claims in the Thomas Range in Utah (owned and operated by us (topazminer)! This is a nice specimen of the tabular variety of red beryl. The crystal is well-formed and sharp and has a nice raspberry red color and a glassy luster. The beryl is a good raspberry red color which by the way is different from the normal dark red color that usually characterizes the red beryl from the Thomas Range.
