Gemmy Red Beryl (also sometimes called Bixbite) – Location: Thomas Range¸ Juab Co.¸ Utah. Thumbnail (see photo for more details). Here we have a nice red beryl crystal from the Thomas Range in Utah. This is a nice tabular red beryl crystal and the crystal is complete. The beryl is a raspberry red color¸ which is different from the “normal” dark red color that usually characterizes the red beryl from the Thomas Range. The color is from a combination trace elements Manganese and Iron inside the beryl . The beryl crystal is well-formed and sharp and very gemmy.
